Fancy is the first pitbull to join the Ambassadors and she has become a favorite face on our feed ever since. How could she not? This gorgeous girl goes hiking regularly and models beautifully in breath taking scenery as you can see on her IG @ms_fancypants_. Want to know more about Fancy? Read her story below.
When did Fancy come into your life?
I was in the summer before my senior year of college when Fancy filled a hole in my heart that I never knew I had. I had wanted a dog since I was very little but never could because of my brother’s fear. Fancy is my first dog and some people have told me I’m crazy for getting a pitbull as my first, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I was instantly drawn to her markings and the moment I picked her up, she just sunk into my arms and I knew she was the one. We’ve grown and learned together and have an unbreakable bond because of that. She has opened my eyes to a new world and quite a few new passions.
How would you describe Fancy?
Fancy is a very calm, easy going dog, however, once you get her playing she is such a goof ball. She still plays like a spunky 6 month old pup and has me giggling all day long. She is very sweet and gentle and loves endlessly. She can be very timid with new people and new experiences but the more we get out and explore new things together, the more I see her blossom. She is a rock climber and a view seeker. I swear she hops up as high as she can and just takes in her surroundings. She has an abundance of toys, I’m talking baskets worth. However she definitely has her top toys and one of them is this 5 ft long giraffe. She drags that thing everywhere she can, tripping on it along the way. No matter if I’m coming home or the mailman is dropping out a package, she is at the door tail waggin and toy in her mouth. She doesn’t know too many tricks but you better bet that if you have a treat in your hand, you’re getting a paw.
What are some adventures Fancy likes?
Fancy was born to be an adventure dog! She is always up to go anywhere at any time and won’t stop until we’re done. We love trying new trails and dog friendly places and we are very lucky to live in a place where there are a ton of places to go with your dog! Anywhere that I’m with her is a good place to be. We do have a couple go-to spots for different activities including: Fiesta Island (Fancy is a beach bum. She would spend all day splashing around in the ocean and digging for treasure if I let her), Elfin Forest (the lake views just never get old), and Forest Falls (perfect place to go play in the snow. I found out last year that she’s a little snow bunny, literally hops through the snow!).
Any stories you'd like to share?
Probably one of the scariest moments, but funniest memories I have is an encounter we had on our trip to Canada. We were on our last hike of the trip heading down the mountain and about half a mile from the car we turned a corner and there was a grizzly bear in the middle of the trail about 20 ft away. That’s right, a grizzly bear! Fancy feels my instant fear panic without me saying a word and lets out one bark. It only took that one bark for the grizzly to go running back up the mountain!
Which is your ultimate Lasso?
It’s so hard to pick just one product as Fancy has quite the collection now. I can’t get enough of the bright colors and excellent quality. We’re on the go a lot and I just can’t live without the Lasso Slip Lead, its my go to leash! We are proud to be a part of such an amazing and gorgeous family, the Lasso family.
